About the Role
We are seeking an Accounting Associate to join our accounting team. This role will be generalist in nature but will initially involve the administration of FIG’s Accounts Payable function, primarily focused on managing the full-cycle AP process and maintaining vendor relationships. The individual filling this role will be responsible for managing both daily payment requests as well as FIG’s weekly run AP batch run.
Key Responsibilities
- Generalist accounting team member supporting senior team members and management in administering FIG’s accounting and financial reporting function
- Full-Cycle AP Management: Oversee the end-to-end AP process, from invoice receipt and GL coding to the meticulous collection of W-9s and banking documentation
- Payment Cycle Execution: Manage daily payment requests and lead the preparation of our weekly payment runs within Bill.com
- Systems Synchronization: Act as the administrator for the sync between Bill.com and Sage Intacct, ensuring data integrity across both platforms
- Vendor & Agent Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for vendor inquiries, resolving billing discrepancies with a professional, white glove service-oriented approach
- Month-End Support: Support the month-end close by reviewing GL accounts, preparing any accruals, and ensuring proper GAAP treatment for expenses

Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: 2+ years of experience in an accounting/AP-focused role OR a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business administration
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced Excel skills (XLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables) and a natural "tech-forward" mindset for navigating cloud-based financial tools and software
- Software Expertise: Direct experience with Sage Intacct and Bill.com is highly preferred but not required
- The "Eagle Eye": An obsession with detail—specifically regarding coding errors, duplicate invoices, and data entry inconsistencies
- Communication: Strong verbal and written skills; ability to explain complex payment issues to internal stakeholders and external partners clearly
- Adaptability: A proactive "willingness to learn" and a desire to thrive in the evolving landscape of insurance services
